Ripe bananas with Ron del Barrilito syrup and brown sugar

  • 4 large ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon powdered cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup Ron del Barrilito brand rum
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter


  • Cutting board

  1. Peel bananas and cut into rounds. In a medium heat skillet, melt butter and add vanilla, cinnamon and sugar until a syrup forms. Add bananas and cook by enveloping in syrup. Add rum and light to flambé. If you prefer not to flambé it, simply allow alcohol to evaporate for approximately three minutes.
